Real projects. Real people. Real possibilities.

See where technology could take you.

Syqei Studio is a creative technology studio where young people explore how technology can tackle some of the biggest threats to the natural world. Through digital projects, they use creative and emerging technologies to explore, experiment and discover. No coding experience needed.

Start with something happening in the real world

Every Syqei project begins with a real ecological question, conservation challenge or environmental dataset.

See what technology can do with it

Explore it through AI, data visualisation, digital mapping, interaction design, coding and other creative technologies.

Decide where you take it

Turn what you discover into an applied technology project you can test, refine and make your own.

There is more than one way into tech.

Maybe you are into coding, design, games, AI, data or creative computing. Syqei Studio gives young people with different interests a way into technology through real-world problems beyond the classroom.

I always knew I loved technology, but I wanted to do more with it than follow tutorials and tick off another course.

Hi! I'm Taleena. I study Computer Science and Cybersecurity, and I've always been the kind of person who gets excited by what technology can make possible.

The parts of tech that stay with you aren't usually the tutorials. They're the moments where you get to try ideas, work with other people and see where those skills could lead. For a lot of young people, it can be hard to find opportunities that connect technology to something bigger than another assignment or project on a screen. Growing up in Western Australia, surrounded by incredible wildlife and landscapes, made me wonder why technology and ecology are so often treated as separate worlds. Syqei came from wanting to bring them together by giving young people the chance to explore applied technology through problems affecting the natural world.

There has to be a better way to start.
